Let’s talk social selling. You ready?
Do you ever wonder how you can make yourself or your product stand out online? Specifically, on social media?
I’ve learned so much from business pros over the past few years, and I’m going to give it to ya straight.
Spoiler: 𝐈𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞.
Instead, you’ve got to make an 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯! People will buy from someone they 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞, 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰, and 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵.
To get started, implement these tips and quit running in circles:
1️⃣ If you want people to 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 you, share your story! Tell lots of stories! No, I’m not talking about a long-drawn out Instagram story (get to the point and utilize captions), but share what makes you relatable! Don’t be afraid to be vulnerable, because therein lies connection.
2️⃣’𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠’ someone comes from a sense of familiarity. On social media, that looks like doing something on repeat. Identify your ‘pillars’ and what you do all the time or how you want to brand yourself. Pick 4-5 pillars and let your audience get to know you through those.
3️⃣In addition, s𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭. I repeat: 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘴 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦. So 𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐕𝐄 your audience with a huge platter of value. What skill set or product can you offer that might take away from someone’s pain, enhance their life or solve their problem?
4️⃣ In the same fashion, another avenue for gaining someone’s trust is your social proof, so start tooting your own horn!
Give your audience reasons to trust you. Invite your community to help you curate some content that shows other people have trusted and invested in you, too. Repost stories, share your customer’s results, ask for the tag/shout out, etc.
