With so many skincare products available these days, determining a simple skincare routine has never been more challenging. Do you agree? It’s almost overwhelming sometimes!
A crowded shelf at every beauty store really gives us too many options to choose from. Plus, the too-good-to-be-true promises often lead to confusion when it comes to beauty shopping, as well. You maybe wondering, do people really need so many must-haves? I hear you!
While it is important to care for your skin both for overall health and to diminish signs of aging, it is extremely difficult to find a simple skincare routine, let alone stick to one. But, that’s what I am here for! So you’re in luck, friend.
No matter how easy your skincare routine may be currently, there are a few rules you should try to follow.
Here are a few suggestions on what you can do to take care of your skin, at the very least. Let me know what you think about this simple skincare routine!
Step 1 – Use a Gentle Cleanser. Our skin takes a beating every minute of the day, from the moment you wake up until the moment you go to sleep. UV rays damage and age the skin both as a result of pollution and routine activity
Step 2 – Apply Sunscreen. UV damage to skin occurs all year long, not just in the summer. You’ve heard it over and over again, but it’s still true: sunscreen is an important factor to consider when it comes to looking your best. The sunscreen product you should be using is an actual sunscreen product, not a moisturizer or foundation with a sun protection factor.
Step 3 – Moisturize Twice A Day. As the day wears on, your skin loses hydration, hydration that keeps it plump and youthful. Moisturizer should be applied twice daily, once in the morning and once at night.
Step 4 – Exfoliate Occasionally, not every day. The gunk and grime on your skin can build up over time. Exfoliating your skin removes dead skin that can cause irritation, dullness, and acne. The best thing you can do for your skin is to exfoliate a few times a week, but not every day.
Step 5 – Add Anti-Aging Products. For healthy skin, the first three steps are essential. To optimize even the simplest skincare routine, include an anti-aging product to help prevent wear and tear caused by environmental irritants.
Skincare is supposed to be fun, so don’t let the beauty hype stress you out. Good skincare is largely the same regardless of the season. Once you feel comfortable with your current routine, you can always add something new.
