Life Update: Home Decor Edition
Hi, friends! So I am really proud to say I checked something off of my “to-do” list past this weekend: I went to the library. I have really wanted to be reading more, and I thought the library was the perfect place to start.
Plus, I love that there are also DVD’s to rent (free for date nights) and cheap printing. I really just need to buy some new ink for my printer, but until then, I think we will just continue printing in pinks and blue tones. Overall, I just LOVE the library.
Anyways, Saturday afternoon Pedro and I ventured out to the library. I like a specific location too… its a little far away from our house. Well of all books that I checked out (there were 4 total), two of them were interior decorating books. One was a sewing book, a self-help book, and the last was Jane Eyre (I saw the movie recently, loved it but had absolutely no clue what was going on, so I’d like to know now.)
Going through the interior decorating books really got me thinking: I think if it is feasible and possible, I would so much rather Pedro and I build our next home. Pedro has the talent and skill to build our home from the ground up, which really thrills me! Because that way, we can have an environment that is exactly how we want it.
I thought it would be fun to use my blog as my “Home Look Book” for some of the ideas that I want in the future. Honestly, I don’t imagine that we would be able to build a home for probably 10 years or so, but a girl can still dream. I’ve got a deep belief that the home should be a safe-haven place from the world. Ultimately, home is somewhere that every member of your family can feel safe, loved, and protected. I would hope that I can create a home that has an inviting spirit so that others feel the same way there, too.
Pro Tip:
If you have a lot of time to kill and want somewhere you can drool over, check out “A Life’s Design.” You’re welcome! I am also going to look for (and share when I can) ways to create your dream home with what you have NOW. For example, I look at photos and think they are nothing like my bathroom now. But! I ask myself, how can I create a place that I equally love on a budget?
So, here are some photos that I came across that I love for the bathroom:

Things I Love:
- I love the built in shelves above the tub here. It’s a great way to add storage and use space.
- Also, I love a super TALL bath. It isn’t quite like all of the vintage baths that are really popular which I also like. Instead, it is a little bit more modern.
To be really honest… that’s all I have time for right now. I will continue posting photos of things I love and different aspects that stand out to me. I absolutely love decorating.
Thanks for coming along on this home decor dreaming journey. Stay tuned!
