Recently, our family experienced a very exciting change…
Let me start from the beginning! Seven years ago my husband Peter took a job that our family has been so incredibly blessed by and grateful for… working a graveyard shift.
This job has carried our family through so much. In the beginning when we were finishing up our college degrees, we lived solely off this paycheck. Although, I still don’t know how we did. It’s been one of the biggest blessings in our lives but, I have to be honest with you, it’s also been a very heavy and taxing thing on our family. 😔
We haven’t had family dinner together with all 4 of us. We have had to cut off our evenings short or miss out on activities all together. Peter being gone at night is all my kids have ever known. I grew a lot of resentment over the job, Peter, and the entire situation. For the past several years Peter has been so exhausted – physically, emotionally, and mentally.

I have wanted this for years – I gave up wanting it a couple of years ago and just learned to accept it. But then the day finally came where HE felt ready to quit!! So we talked about it, he gave his 2 week notice and last night he completed his final graveyard shift 😭🙌🏽.
I will admit, I am anticipating a “learning curve” as we figure out our new normal. Having him not only home but present (and awake) in the afternoons and the evening will be amazing for our family. It means he will be able to help with homework, sit at the dinner table together, have a better bedtime routine, and 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫.
I’m so incredibly grateful for what a hardworking man Peter is.
He took this job to provide for our family while we were in college and has been juggling this with another jobs for the past 5 years. I am grateful for my home-based business with Seint that made this possible from the beginning – it has quite literally helped me fill the empty space & I am so excited to have him by my side as I continue working with Seint!
We don’t know what the future holds, but we are excited for a new, fresh chapter! It’s time to dream + create together 💫
