I snapped these photos last weekend for Father’s Day, off of the side of some road in the middle of nowhere. Our own little Idahome backyard adventures. The sunlight was incredible and so were the bug bites. Even though I’m itching like crazy – the photos were worth it. The sunset that night was incredible and breathtaking.
A couple of things, for the books:
A few weeks ago, I ran to the grocery store with just Oliver (or maybe I had both boys, I can’t remember). Here’s what I know: as I was checking out, my sweet little two year old was pretending to be a baby (to be funny). He was crawling around on that awfully disgusting floor. I cringed as I ran my card but I wasn’t nearly as phased as I used to be.
While in the store another time, he tried to get my attention by saying, “Stacy? Stacy!” It’s a phase I thought we were over, but apparently not.
He loves identifying all colors, everywhere. I was worried about his eyesight at one point in time, but no more. He can see the littlest things and notice the craziest details.
We have a Webster’s Dictionary that came from who-knows-where. I honestly don’t know when it showed up or who the original owner is. Oliver has been taking the dictionary with him everywhere and clutching it close to his heart, making his nerdy father proud. At the park we were lunching with a friend last week and her little boy — a year and a half younger than Oliver — would call Oliver a ‘baby’ (so funny) and chase him around for his book. Oliver’s look of terror was so classic. He would clutch the book and come running to me.
This past weekend we arrived home from our backyard adventure and our little neighbor was walking around naked. Her mother was not too happy with her, and while Pete and I were laughing. I’m so glad Oliver didn’t see her to realize that clothing might be optional outside. Ha.
Pedro has almost exactly 1 month left of school. Couldn’t be more proud of him for working so hard to provide for our family while in school. It’s made for some long days and nights for both of us. And, a tight budget, and some limited family time, but the end is in sight {for now}!!!
My babe Roman has fallen asleep, which means I better get to bed! He/we sleep in 2.5-3.5 hour increments so…. I need to take advantage of my shut eye while I can.
Speaking of sleep – I must still be in mombie (zombie + mom) mode… I didn’t even realize it was my birthday this week (which is HUGE, considering I usually celebrate all.month.long) until I was in church and my birthday was read in relief society.
Oh how times are changing.
