Make my signature Raspberry Freezer Jam with me!
Nothing says summer time quite like raspberry jam. This recipe is one that is a staple in my home. The store bought version just doesn’t compare!
I love spending time in the kitchen, preparing fresh treats and recipes that my family and I can enjoy, year-round. I’m excited to hear what you think of the recipe when you try it out yourself. Be sure to let me know on my Instagram Reel, where I show you exactly how I made this! Ok, let’s dive in…
Raspberry Freezer Jam Recipe 😋
☀️3 cups crushed raspberries (from about 6 cups whole raspberries, mashed down to 3 cups)
☀️5 1/4 cups granulated sugar (yep, it’s a lot)
☀️1 pkg. Sure-Jell (make sure to use the pink box!)
☀️3/4 cup water
☀️Rinse raspberries in a colander, and lay out to dry. Gently mash the raspberries with a pastry or potato masher (or the bottom of a cup works too!). You might still have some chunks of raspberries when you’re done, that’s okay!
☀️Measure out your crushed raspberries – you need 3 cups exactly.
☀️Stir in 1 cup of the sugar into the raspberry mixture and stir well until the sugar is dissolved. Stir in remaining 4 1/4 cups sugar until dissolved. Let raspberry/sugar mixture sit for 10 minutes.
☀️In a small sauce pan, stir together the Sure-Jell pectin and 3/4 cup water. Bring to a boil, and boil for 1 minute. Remove the pan from heat, and immediately stir the pectin mixture into the raspberries. Stir constantly until the mixture is dissolved.
☀️Pour raspberry jam into canning or freezer jars, leaving space at the top. Allow to ‘set’ on the counter for 24 hours, before storing in the freezer.
Pro tip: If your berries are super sweet, add a little bit of lemon juice to the crushed mixture! This raspberry freezer jam will store for up to a year! 🍋
My absolute favorite way to enjoy this jam is on a slice of hot homemade bread or toast! Other options to try out that I’ve hear people love:
- add a little bit to vanilla ice cream
- drizzle on top of your favorite muffin for a delicious breakfast
- top your pancakes with it!
