To help you get started, I’ve put together The Ultimate Newborn Checklist: My Must-Have Items for Baby #3, that consists of all the items we have compiled as a must-have for our third newborn baby based on our failures and successes. Having a comprehensive checklist can make all the difference in making you feel at ease during a time that you don’t get that a lot. In this blog I will breakdown the checklist with our thoughts and call a spotlight to specific items or brands I can’t not share.
The Breakdown
The Ultimate Newborn Checklist: My Must-Have Items for Baby #3 is separated into nursery, gear, diapering, bath, clothing, sleeping, and miscellaneous. Based on my prior newborn experiences, I could break the items up and filter through the beginning necessities or must-haves, as in this state, before your newborn, a lot is thrown at you. From books to friends to social media, there are millions of recommendations and items you are told you “have” to have, which can create unneeded stress. That is why I wanted to share my checklist for baby #3, to try and save you from the whirlwind of it all! These are my preferences and favorites that could be different from yours, but all in all, it can’t hurt. I have already gathered some items, like diapers, sleep sacks, socks, blackout curtains, and a few…. or many onesies. There is still plenty more to go, so wish me luck!

After two kids, you learn tips, tricks, and some things you can’t live without. Based on The Ultimate Newborn Checklist: My Must-Have Items for Baby #3, here are a few of those kinds of items and brands that I already have on the way!
Crib Mattress:
For your newborn mattress, I have found that two elements are an absolute nonnegotiable must: breathable & washable. With that in mind, the Newton Crib Mattress is my pick. Along with being a breathable and washable mattress, it also is known for its 5.5-inch thick comfort and soft quilted removable cover. You can choose between four different colors and four different styles! Trust me, this is a must!
Sound Machine:
A sound machine is crucial for any newborn as it helps bring them accustomed to being out of the womb and comforts them when trying to sleep. I highly recommend having a portable sound machine like Hatch Rest Go. This portable machine has ten soothing sounds, white noises, and up to 15 hours of battery. A newborn’s well-being and peaceful sleep are crucial, and so is yours! Therefore, don’t skip out on this recommendation 😉
Baby Bouncer:
I didn’t think this item would be something I needed or wanted, but it was one of my favorite baby finds! A baby bouncer assist is another method of soothing and entertaining your newborn. Both of my sons loved being in one, and it was SO helpful to put them in there when I needed a quick second with both my hands. So many great ones are out there, but I use this BabyBjorn Bouncer from Amazon. There are plenty of colors and materials to pick from. Plus, it adjusts into three reclining positions and is foldable for easy storage and travel. What more could you need?
Rash Cream:
The Diaper Rash Cream by Boogie Bottoms will be an absolute select weapon! Especially the Spray version, as you don’t need to rub, making it a touch-free application. It’s so easy to use and mess-free you’ve got to have it on hand. Using a diaper rash cream will help prevent, treat, and relieve any rash pain your little one has. I can’t get over the spray form of this. It’s so rad!
MAM Binky’s:
Having high-quality pacifiers is essential for any and all newborns. It might seem like the most prominent and known item for your newborn, and it is true, but it can be hard to know which kind to get! I have tried many brands, types, and styles, to find that the MAM Binky’s is one of my favorites. MAM is known for its pacifiers, especially newborns, as making sure you buy age-appropriate pacifiers is very important. They promote easy switching between breast, bottle, and pacifiers and are rated 94% nipple acceptance! Also, they are self-sterilizing in a microwave (SCORE). These MAM Binky’s will be your new best friend, other than your newborn!
